MOBILE, Ala. (May 7, 2017) - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, blanked the Jackson Generals 4-0 in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Jake Jewell (1-1) earned his first Double-A win, tossing six scoreless frames. He only allowed three hits, struck out six, and did not issue a walk in the quality start. After four scoreless innings, the BayBears tallied an unearned run against Brooks Hall (1-2) in the bottom of the fifth. It was the first lead for Mobile in the series. Hall recorded a quality start as well, giving up four hits and striking out five over six frames, but took the loss.
Forrestt Allday added to the lead with a two-run double in the seventh, the highlight of a three-run inning. Allday went 2-for-4 and has now reached base in 13 consecutive games.
