WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Estibenzon Jiménez led the way with a season and career-best 7.0 shutout innings for the Clearwater Threshers (64-30, 20-9) who shutout the Jupiter Hammerheads (49-46, 14-15) for the second straight night 5-0 on Saturday evening at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. The Threshers and Hammerheads conclude their lone regular season series on Sunday afternoon in West Palm Beach

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning, which began with back-to-back singles from Cole Moore and William Bergolla. Moore, who moved to third on Bergolla’s base hit, scored on an error by Jupiter third baseman Tony Bullard on a grounder by Jordan Dissin that gave the Threshers a 1-0 lead.

After the first out of the fifth was recorded, Troy Schreffler reached on a walk to load the bases before the Hammerheads starter, Juan De La Cruz, was pulled from the game. He was replaced by Jake Schrand, who allowed a three-run double by Justin Crawford with two outs to extend the Threshers lead to 4-0.

Otto Kemp hit a double to left on the second pitch of the sixth inning and moved to third after back-to-back walks loaded the bases. Cade Fergus drove him in on a sacrifice fly to right to bring the Threshers lead up to 5-0.

The Threshers turned two double plays in the final three frames and finished off the ballgame with a 1-2-3 ninth to seal a 5-0 win.

Estibenzon Jiménez (3-4) tossed 7.0 shutout innings with four hits allowed and three strikeouts to earn the win. Yoniel Ramirez tossed a scoreless eighth with one walk and one hit allowed. Jonh Henriquez pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to finish the ballgame.
