Few players connected with Reno fans in 2025 the way Jorge Barrosa did. With his infectious energy, knack for coming through in big moments, and ability to spark rallies, the outfielder earned the title of the Aces’ Fan Favorite — and it was easy to see why.
Barrosa’s season highlight was nothing short of remarkable: a 29-game hitting streak from June 5 to July 8 — the longest in all of affiliated baseball this year. During that run, he was nearly unstoppable, going 48-for-126 (.381) with seven doubles, a triple, three home runs, 24 RBI, and 18 walks. The tear not only electrified fans at Greater Nevada Field but also transformed his season at the plate. Over the course of the streak, his slash line jumped from .265/.355/.407 to .308/.394/.452, putting him among the league’s most dangerous table-setters.
By the time of his September 1 promotion to Arizona, Barrosa had put together one of the most well-rounded campaigns of any Aces hitter. He closed his Reno season with a .294/.378/.431 line, tallying 29 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 58 RBI. His knack for finding the gaps left him ranked fourth in the Pacific Coast League in doubles at the time of his call-up, a testament to both his bat control and ability to create extra-base damage.

Barrosa’s stints with the Diamondbacks gave him a chance to showcase his game on the biggest stage, and he never returned to Reno after his September call-up. But for Aces fans, his impact was already cemented. From the hitting streak to his clutch performances to the energy he brought day in and day out, Barrosa wasn’t just productive — he was the heartbeat of the team.
