El Paso, Texas (Saturday, June 29) - The Fresno Grizzlies (42-40) roared past the El Paso Chihuahuas (50-31) 9-4 from Southwest University Park. José Marmolejos headlined the Fresno offense, reaching base five times. Marmolejos homered for the second straight night and expanded the club-high hit streak to 14 games. In that span, the right fielder is 29-for-55 (.527) with 10 extra-base hits and 21 RBI.
Both Andrew Stevenson and Carter Kieboom collected three hits for the Grizzlies. Stevenson ended the contest a clout shy of the cycle. Alec Keller added a double and three runs, pushing his personal-best hit streak to eight affairs. Keller has five multi-hit games and has scored a run in six of eight contests. Brandon Snyder also went deep in the victory, his 15th of the year.
Austin Allen led the Chihuahuas with two longballs. The catcher drove in three of the four El Paso runs. Michael Gettys tallied the other RBI after a double in the fifth. Kyle McGowin (6-2) earned the decision for the Grizzlies after six innings of work. He punched out six. Miguel Diaz (0-1) took the loss.

ON THAT FRES-NOTE: Every starter in the Grizzlies lineup recorded a hit, including pitcher Kyle McGowin. The righty has three hits against the Chihuahuas this season, after lacing two doubles in a 2-0 win on May 2nd at Chukchansi Park. Fresno supplied 16 hits in a 9-4 victory over El Paso Saturday evening.
