(COLUMBUS, OH) -- The Chicago White Sox have recalled Charlotte Knights infielder José Rondón today to replace infielder Yoán Moncada, who was placed on the White Sox 10-day disabled list today with left hamstring tightness.

(COLUMBUS, OH) -- The Chicago White Sox have recalled Charlotte Knights infielder José Rondón today to replace infielder Yoán Moncada, who was placed on the White Sox 10-day disabled list today with left hamstring tightness.

Rondón, who extended his hit-streak to nine straight games last night, is hitting .286 (28-for-98) with 15 runs scored, four doubles, two triples, four home runs, 10 RBIs, and two stolen bases over 24 games with the Knights this season. The 24-year-old currently leads the team in runs scored, hits, triples, total bases, and is tied for the team lead in home runs. His 28 hits are third and his 48 total bases are fourth in the International League this season.

With the promotion of Rondón today, the Knights have now promoted nine players to the White Sox this season. He joins RHP Bruce Rondόn, RHP Chris Volstad, RHP Gregory Infante , RHP Chris Beck , OF Daniel Palka , RHP Juan Minaya , and RHP Dylan Covey , and LHP Jace Fry , who have all received promotions from Charlotte in 2018. Last season, 22 players earned a promotion from Charlotte to Chicago.
