ASHEVILLE- The Asheville Tourists earned a double-header split with the Lexington Legends on Friday night. The Legends held on to win game one 4-3 but the Tourists bounced back in game two with a 2-1 victory.
Asheville fell behind 4-0 in the first game when Chad Spanberger hit a two-run double in the sixth inning. Asheville scored once in the bottom of the seventh on Shael Mendoza's RBI groundout but the Legends closed out the contest by inducing a game-ending double play.

In game two, Erick Julio took center stage. The right-hander made his first start since April 12 and retired 15 of the 16 batters he faced. Lexington had no answer for Julio. Erick struck out five over five shutout innings on the mound.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ramon Marcelino and Taylor Snyder hit back-to-back Home Runs that gave Asheville a 2-0 lead. Tommy Doyle and Robert Tyler pitched the final two frames with Doyle earning the hold and Tyler the save. Lexington finished with only two hits in the game.
Antonio Santos suffered a tough luck loss in game one despite striking out nine Legends over five innings. Sean Bouchard finished with three hits in six at bats over the two contests.
Both teams will play another double-header at McCormick Field on Saturday with game one slated to begin at 4:35pm.
