The Kansas City Royals announced a series of transactions on Tuesday that affects their Triple-A affiliate Omaha Storm Chasers roster prior to this evening's series-opening matchup with the Las Vegas 51's at Cashman Field.
Right-hander Jake Junis  has been activated to Omaha's roster after being optioned from Kansas City on Wednesday. The 24-year-old has posted two scoreless outings with the Royals, earning his first Major League victory on May 9 at Tampa Bay. In four starts for the Storm Chasers this year he has compiled a 1-2 record and 3.52 ERA (9 ER/23.0 IP), adding 27 strikeouts.

The Royals have also announced outfielder Terrance Gore has been transferred to Omaha from Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The 25-year-old speedster has accumulated a .254 average (15-59) with nine runs, one double, one RBI and eight steals in as many attempts. Gore played in 17 contests with the Storm Chasers during the 2014 campaign, batting .250 (5-20), adding eight runs scored and 11 thefts in 14 steal attempts.
These roster moves are in addition to the transactions announced by the Royals on Wednesday afternoon, which included selecting the contracts of right-handers Al Alburquerque and Seth Maness . The former posted a 2-1 record and 2.63 ERA (4 ER/13.2 IP) with 12 strikeouts in 11 appearances with Omaha, while the latter tallied no record and 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) in three outings.
Outfielder Peter O'Brien was also Designated for Assignment by the Royals on Wednesday. In 27 contests with the Storm Chasers he compiled a .162 average (17-105) with ten runs, one double, a triple, three homers and six RBI.
As a result of these roster moves, Omaha's active roster now stands at 24, in addition to five on the Disabled List.
The Storm Chasers begin their four-game set with the Las Vegas 51s this evening, with first pitch scheduled for 9:05 p.m. CT. Royals top prospect Josh Staumont (2-2, 4.18), who ranks second in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts, is expected to toe the rubber for Omaha, while the 51s are slated to send RHP Tyler Pill (2-0, 0.33) to the hill.
Omaha returns to Werner Park to begin a seven-day homestand on Tuesday, May 16 against the Tacoma Rainiers. First pitch for the series opener in Omaha is set for 6:35 p.m. CT.
