JUPITER, Fla. - The Jupiter Hammerheads struck out 11 Miracle batters and pulled away late for a 5-2 victory on Thursday morning at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
The Hammerheads scored their first two runs on a pair of double steals of home and second. Down 2-1 entering the sixth, the Miracle rallied to tie the game. Mark Contreras and Brandon Lopez opened the frame with singles, before Luis Arraez advanced them into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt. Contreras later scored on a wild pitch.
Jupiter, however, immediately re-took the lead in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Justin Twine. They added single runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
John Silviano reached three times for the Hammerheads on a single and two walks. Stone Garrett and Riley Mahan each went 2-for-4. Lopez and Arraez had two hits apiece for the Miracle, four of the club's five hits in the game.
Charlie Barnes (1-4) started for the Miracle and suffered the loss. The left-hander tossed 5.1 innings and allowed two earned runs. He walked four and struck out two.
Parker Bugg (2-1) earned the win in relief for Jupiter, striking out six in three innings. Vincenzo Aiello pitched a perfect top of the ninth inning to record his first save of the season.
After the Miracle won the series opener, 1-0, on Tuesday night, Jupiter took the final three games of the series. Fort Myers fell to 4-17 on the road this season and is 17-23 overall.  
The Miracle return home to Hammond Stadium on Friday night for the opener of a three-game series against the St. Lucie Mets. Right-hander Brady Anderson (0-4) will start for Fort Myers. First pitch is 7:00 p.m.
