FREDERICK, MD-The 2019 Frederick Keys season will include a new voice in the team's radio booth. Jack Keffer joins the Keys as the team's No. 2 radio broadcaster alongside the "Voice of the Keys" Geoff Arnold. Keffer will broadcast Keys home games and select road games. He will also contribute to pre and postgame shows, Keys digital content and assist with club PR and marketing initiatives.
No stranger to the Carolina League, Keffer spent 2017 as a broadcast assistant for the Wilmington Blue Rocks. There, he called home games and some road contests. In addition to this experience, the suburban Philadelphia native called games for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod League.
A 2018 graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Jack handled play-by-play for all Diplomat athletic events, ranging from football to squash. He also produced weekly video interviews and student athlete profiles. After graduating, Keffer worked full-time for Entercom Communications.
"I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity with the Frederick Keys," said Keffer. "I'm excited to work with a veteran like Geoff Arnold and I can't thank the Wilmington Blue Rocks organization, the F&M athletics department and countless others who have given their time to help me along the way. I'd especially like to thank Matt Janus and Cory Nidoh of the Blue Rocks and Brad Weltmer and Mickey Blymier at F&M."
Arnold returns for his sixth season as the Keys lead broadcaster. In addition to his work in Frederick, the Pennsylvania native calls events for the ACC Network, ESPN3 and ESPN+ as well as George Washington men's and women's basketball and the Delaware Blue Coats, NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers.
For the second straight season, all 140 Keys games will be broadcast on the TuneIn radio app and frederickkeys.com. Broadcasts begin 15 minutes before the game and conclude with the Musket Ridge Postgame Show. Arnold and Keffer will also broadcast the Carolina League All-Star Classic, presented by Visit Frederick, on Tuesday June 18.
In addition to Keys games, fans can catch Arnold and Keffer and their biweekly digital show, "Rounding the Bases" across Keys social media platforms as well as the Unlocking the Keys Blog. Fans can also hear from players and coaches during daily interviews and in-depth analysis on the monthly Keys to the Game podcast.
The Keys kickoff their home schedule on Thursday, April 4 when the Winston-Salem Dash come to town. First pitch is slated for 7:00 p.m. and the broadcast can be heard on the TuneIn radio app starting at 6:45 p.m. Fans can purchase single-game regular season tickets as well as tickets to the 2019 Carolina League All-Star Classic, presented by Visit Frederick, by visiting frederickkeys.com or by visiting the Keys box office.
