Keys Drop Game Three of Series to Cyclones Thursday Night

BROOKLYN, NY – The Frederick Keys suffered their first loss of the six-game series to the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) Thursday night, losing by a score of 12-5 at Maimonides Park.
The Cyclones scored nine unanswered runs to take down the Keys for the first time during the month of September, as Frederick will look to get back in win column Friday night during game four.
Frederick brought home the first run of the afternoon on an RBI single from Yasmil Bucce, giving the visiting team in the Keys an early 1-0 advantage through the first inning of play.
Brooklyn came back with two runs in the bottom of the second on a two-RBI single, handing the Cyclones a 2-1 lead through two innings from Maimonides Park.
Each team traded a run in the third with the Keys’s coming in on an RBI single from Leandro Arias, and the Cyclones’s coming in on an RBI base knock, making it a 3-2 lead for Brooklyn approaching the fourth in Coney Island.
After a scoreless fourth inning for both sides, an RBI single from Enddy Azocar and a two-run homer from Yasmil Bucce handed Frederick a 5-3 lead in the top of the fifth, but a four-run frame which included a three-run homer from Ronald Hernandez and an RBI infield hit, putting the Cyclones ahead at 7-5 entering the sixth inning Thursday evening.
Following the Keys and Cyclones trading zeros in the sixth inning, Stephen Still struck out the side during his fourth inning of relief, taking the contest to the eighth with the Keys down 7-5 approaching the eighth inning in the Big Apple.
The Cyclones put home five runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it a 12-5 game heading into the ninth, as the five-run frame capped off their 12-run day with 16 base hits.
Frederick went scoreless in the top of the ninth to close the game, as Brooklyn took home their first win of the series, winning game three of the series by a score of 12-5.
The Keys take on the Cyclones for the fourth full game in as many days Friday night, with first pitch set for 6:40 p.m. from Maimonides Park in Coney Island.
