FREDERICK, MD – The Frederick Keys fell in game four of the six-game series to the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals) Friday night, losing by a score of 4-1 at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.

The Keys and Blue Rocks traded zeros most of the night with the Blue Rocks getting a sixth-inning grand slam to earn the victory on the road, as Frederick aims to try and get a game five victory at home on the first day of August on Saturday.

Frederick struck first during the bottom of the opening inning after an RBI single from Luis Vasquez put the Keys ahead 1-0 through the opening inning of play on Christmas in July.

Stephen Still struck out the side in the top of the second and followed that up with a 1-2-3 top of the third, keeping Frederick ahead by one at 1-0 heading into the fourth from the Key City.

After a scoreless fourth inning for both sides, Still racked up three more strikeouts and a 10th punchout overall through five innings, taking the game into the sixth with the home team still in front by a run at Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.

The Blue Rocks got four runs on one swing courtesy of a grand slam hit from Kevin Bazzell in the top of the sixth, handing the visitors a 4-1 lead approaching the seventh inning Friday night.

Chandler Marsh tossed a scoreless top of the seventh, keeping the Keys in the game down by three going into the eighth in front a packed crowd at home.

Following the Keys and Blue Rocks going off the board in the eighth, Cohen Achen tossed a 1-2-3 top of the ninth and gave the Keys offense a chance to get a late rally in the bottom half, but Frederick went down in order to finish the night as Wilmington finished the night with a 4-1 victory in game four.

The Keys prepare for game five of the six-game series against the Blue Rocks Saturday night, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. from Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.

Saturday’s game represents Cancer Awareness Night at the ballpark presented by Community Radiology Associates and WellAve Dermatology. There will be also be a jersey auction benefiting the American Cancer Society and postgame fireworks.
