Keys Outfielder Enddy Azocar Named August South Atlantic League Player of the Month

FREDERICK, MD – Current Keys outfielder Enddy Azocar received the monthly honor of Minor League Player of the Month for the South Atlantic League in his first month as in the Orioles system.

Azocar took home the award after finishing with a batting average of .365 during the month of August, leading the South Atlantic League. He also finished with a league-leading 35 hits, nine doubles, and was second in runs scored with 24 on his tab. Azocar additionally was second in all league in total bases with 63 and triples with two.

Azocar came to the Keys and the Orioles organization on August 3 after being acquired at the MLB Trade Deadline by Baltimore as part of the trade for catcher Adley Rutschman. Along with Azocar, fellow top Boston Red Sox prospects and current Keys joined the roster including right-handed starting pitcher Kyson Witherspoon.

He started a five straight multi-hit game in August with the Greenville Drive (Red Sox) before being assigned to the Keys to continue the streak. Azocar finished the month of August with 10 multi-hit performances. One of his best performances in a Keys uniform came on the road on August 19 against the Wilmington Blue Rocks (Nationals), in which he posted a career-high four hits in his third week with the Orioles organization.

He began his professional career back in 2024 with the Red Sox after being signed on January 15, 2024 as part of their international free agent class. Following his signing, he immediately provided a spark in the lineup for the Salem Ridgeyaks (Single-A, Red Sox) before being promoted to High-A Greenville on May 26 of this year. In 107 games throughout the 2026 campaign, he has recorded an average of .295 while hitting 21 homers and driving in 82 RBIs.

The Keys conclude the regular season this coming week on the road against the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) before preparing for postseason play which begins on Tuesday, September 8. The Keys will host game two of the South Atlantic League North Division Championship series on Thursday, September 10 at 7 p.m. from Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium.
