Keys Secure Second Half South Atlantic League North Division Championship

BROOKLYN, NY – The Frederick Keys secured the 2026 South Atlantic League North Division Second Half Championship Saturday night after taking down the Brooklyn Cyclones (Mets) by a score of 7-3 from Maimonides Park.

The Keys won both the first and second half title following recording their 82^nd win of the entire regular season, as they took home the second half crown with one game left to go in the second half.

After a scoreless first inning for both sides began the night, the Keys took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second thanks to a two-RBI single from DJ Layton, giving the visiting team the early advantage through two innings of play Saturday night.

Following a scoreless third inning for both sides, the Cyclones took their first lead of the night with two home runs in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 3-2 game in favor of Brooklyn entering the fifth inning in Coney Island.

Enddy Azocar tied things up at three apiece in the top of the fifth on an RBI double to right-center, evening the score at three apiece approaching the sixth from Maimonides Park.

With each side finishing with zeros in the sixth inning, Frederick retook the lead in the top of the seventh with a three-run frame after an RBI groundout from Randal Diaz and a two-RBI double from Jaiden Lo Re, handing the Keys a 6-3 lead going into the eighth in game five of the series.

In the eighth, Ty Head came off the bench and delivered a pinch-hit RBI single, increasing the lead for the visitors to 7-3 approaching the ninth in Brooklyn on the road.

From there, Brendan Parks closed out the game with a scoreless bottom of the ninth, as the Keys took home the second half crown after winning by a score of 7-3 Saturday night over the Cyclones.
