Kickham (1-3) did not allow a hit through the first three innings, while Jacksonville (18-26) built an 8-0 lead. He faced the minimum through 4 1/3 innings before Braves right fielder Keith Curcio hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. He only allowed one other baserunner into scoring position, allowing only two hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

The Jumbo Shrimp opened the scoring in the second inning against Braves right-hander Matt Withrow (1-3). Left fielder Alex Glenn singled and went to second base on a groundout before center fielder Yefri Pérez hit an RBI triple to left field.
The 1-0 lead grew again when Jacksonville batted around in the third inning. Third baseman Brian Anderson walked with one out, and first baseman Cal Towey singled. With two outs, Glenn hit an RBI single to right field for a 2-0 lead. Catcher Cam Maron walked to load the bases, and Perez hit a two-run double to right field for a 4-0 edge. Kickham then hit a three-run homer to the right-field bleachers, and shortstop Alex Yarbrough followed with a solo home run to nearly the same spot to make it 8-0. Withrow allowed eight earned runs on nine hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings.

Following three scoreless innings by Braves left-hander Michael Mader, left-hander Philip Pfeifer allowed seventh-inning singles to pinch-hitter Taylor Ard and second baseman David Vidal. Anderson's two-run double extended the lead to 10-1.
Against Jumbo Shrimp left-hander Daniel Schlereth, Mississippi (22-22) tallied single runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Second baseman Luis Valenzuela hit an RBI single, and catcher Kade Scivicque hit a sacrifice fly, respectively. Schlereth finished the game to give Jacksonville its third home series victory in four homestands at the Baseball Grounds this season.
UP NEXT: The Jumbo Shrimp conclude their series with Mississippi at 11:05 a.m. Monday, when Jacksonville right-hander Chris Mazza (0-2) is scheduled to face Braves left-hander Max Fried (2-5).
