Salt Lake City, Utah (Sunday, June 23) - The Fresno Grizzlies (40-36) roared past the Salt Lake Bees (34-41) 22-9 from Smith's Ballpark. Fresno tallied a season-high 24 hits with every starter recording at least one. Each batter logged two-plus runs while eight of nine hitters picked up at least one RBI. The Grizzlies also reached a seven and 10-run inning with grand slams in both frames. With the final, Fresno won their third straight contest and the series.
Carter Kieboom and Andrew Stevenson highlighted the offensive barrage with grand slams. Kieboom's came in the fifth while Stevenson powered his in the seventh. The second baseman whacked three hits and drove in four. Stevenson laced five hits in five consecutive innings while adding five RBI and four runs. Matt Reynolds also helped the outburst with five hits (one homer), four RBI and four runs. José Marmolejos and Wilmer Difo also spanked three hits for the Grizzlies.
Salt Lake mustered 14 hits in the loss. Five batters notched multi-hit affairs with Taylor Ward and Jarrett Parker crushing taters. Ward went deep for the second straight game while Parker's dinger streak extended to six contests. Parker supplied the Bees with three RBI. Brandon Snyder (1-0) enjoyed the decision while Alex Klonowski (0-4) was dealt the defeat.
