Up until the sixth inning, things were going well for the Herd as they quickly erased Syracuse's 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with some offensive firepower of their own.

Two pitches later, Kivlehan kept things going with a solo home run just over the right field wall to put Buffalo out in front, 2-1. Kivlehan later recorded his second home run of the day - and third in the past two games - in the eighth off
