Summary
Cleveland Indians ace Corey Kluber pitched five innings of shutout baseball in his first rehab start with the RubberDucks, and Akron pounded out a season-high 15 hits, in a 10-0 victory over the Bowie Baysox Friday night at Canal Park.

Turning Point
Outfielder Dorssys Paulino broke his 0-10 skid with a RBI single in the fourth that put Akron on the board 1-0. The offensive attack struck again for three runs in the fifth with a Francisco Mejía RBI single following singles by Tyler Krieger and Mike Papi. Bobby Bradley would then add a two run double to put Akron up 4-0 and give them a steady lead to play from.
Winging It
In his first outing since May 3rdCorey Kluber (1-0) looked like his Cy-Young self, working five shutout innings and allowing just one hit with one strikeout on 47 pitches for the RubberDucks (22-21). The Akron bullpen held the shutout when Dylan Baker tossed one scoreless inning followed by two from David Speer with Leandro Linares closing out the ninth inning. Bowie starter John Means (2-5) battled through six innings allowing four runs on seven hits.
Duck Tales
Outfielder Mike Papi went 3-5 on the evening. Papi is now hitting .372 (16-43) against left-handers on the season. Mejia is hitting .400 (8-20) with two home runs and five RBI and seven runs scored in five games since returning from the disabled list. In the seventh the Ducks exploded for a six-run inning to push their lead to 10-0, featuring a two-run single by Jordan Smith and an RBI double by infielder Mark Mathias.
Notebook
It was the second straight shutout for the RubberDucks and their third of the season…Kluber last pitched for Akron in 2010 starting five games and going 2-2… Pitcher Perci Garner was added to the RubberDucks roster prior to today's game… Garner was an all-star in 2016 with Akron before being promoted to Columbus and then Cleveland… The RubberDucks have won five straight and are over .500 for the first time this season at 22-21… Time of Game: 2:17… Attendance: 7,707.
