Knights Fall to Bulls 7-6 Thursday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of their two-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 7-6 on Thursday night from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. Despite the loss, the Knights split the series with the Bulls and have won four of their last five games.

Catcher Zack Collins and outfielder Daniel Palka both homered in Thursday's finale. For Collins, it was his 10th home run of the season, while Palka connected on his 21st home run of the season. Collins led the way with three hits and three RBIs. Shortstop Danny Mendick chipped in with three hits and a run scored.

Charlotte RHP Zach Thompson (5-2, 5.31) was saddled with the loss after he allowed two runs on two hits over two innings of work out of the bullpen. RHP Donny Roach, who started Thursday's game, gave up five runs on eight hits over six innings.

Chicago White Sox 2018 first-round pick, Nick Madrigal, went 1-for-4 with a runs scored and an RBI in his Triple-A debut with the Knights.  

Thursday's game started with a delay of two hours and twenty-seven minutes.

The Knights will now make the trek to Lawrenceville, GA to open a three-game series against the Gwinnett Stripers from Coolray Field on Friday night.
