(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- On Thursday, July 4, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Charlotte Knights will partner with CrownCARES, an outreach initiative of Carolina Crown Inc., and Samaritan's Feet, to help make a difference in the City of Charlotte.

The goal of this event, which will take place at the McCrorey YMCA in Charlotte, is to distribute shoes, socks, books and a message of hope to approximately 300-500 children in Mecklenburg County through Samaritan's Feet and CrownCARES' Rhythm & Reading initiative.

Children will have their feet washed by volunteers and will be fitted with a new pair of shoes, socks and books. Knights staff and players will volunteer alongside Carolina Crown staff and band members.

ABOUT CrownCARES: CrownCARES is an outreach initiative of Carolina Crown Inc., a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization located in Fort Mill, South Carolina. With a Mission of "Impacting a Generation", CrownCARES partners with existing charitable organizations to amplify outreach opportunities within the communities they serve.

ABOUT SAMARITAN'S FEET: Samaritan's Feet wants to inspire hope through the gift of shoes, the act of washing feet, and encouragement to those who need it most. People without shoes face dangers like laceration, fungus, and insect bites that can lead to infection, disease, and even death. Children with no shoes are often not allowed entrance to education in many countries and can find their way into slavery, or unsafe and inexcusable child labor environments.
