MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (May 30, 2018) - Alex Lange threw five shutout innings to propel the Myrtle Beach Pelicans to a 3-0 win on Wednesday night over the Winston-Salem Dash from TicketReturn.Com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
Lange (3-2) struck out five over his five innings while allowing five hits and walking one for the Pelicans (24-28). Erick Leal then tossed three innings, only allowing one base runner on a walk and striking out one, before Tyler Peyton completed the Pelicans' sixth shutout on the season with a ninth inning in which he ceded just a single to pick up his fourth save of the season.

The Pelicans received all the offense that they would need against the Dash (28-25) in the fourth inning. Wladimir Galindo , who went 2-for-3 on the night, doubled home Aramis Ademan and Jhonny Pereda to give the Birds a 2-0 advantage. Connor Myers then lifted a sacrifice fly to center to drive in Galindo and make it 3-0 Myrtle Beach.
Luis Martinez (3-4) was handed the loss despite tossing seven innings and only yielding three runs.
The Birds have now won four straight, matching a season-best, and Wednesday's win was their sixth over their last seven contests.
