Larry Walker Becomes Second Ex-Drillers Player Elected to Hall of Fame

Larry Walker became the second former Tulsa Drillers player elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, joining former Drillers catcher Ivan Rodriguez.

Tulsa, OK- Today the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Larry Walker will be part of the 2020 induction class into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, in his tenth and final year on the ballot. He will join Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez as the second former Tulsa Drillers player

Tulsa, OK- Today the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Larry Walker will be part of the 2020 induction class into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, in his tenth and final year on the ballot. He will join Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez as the second former Tulsa Drillers player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Walker played five games with Tulsa in 2004 on a rehab assignment with the Colorado Rockies.
He was inducted by receiving 76.6% of the votes, just over the required 75%.
In his MLB playing career Walker spent time with Montreal, Colorado and St. Louis. His career numbers include: .313 BA, .400 OBP and .565 SLG. Walker also has a long list of awards to add to his resume: 7-time Gold Glove winner, 3-time Silver Slugger, 5-time All Star, 2004 World Series appearance and 1997 NL MVP.
