The Las Vegas 51s collected eight doubles on Sunday afternoon en route to a 7-3 win over the New Orleans Baby Cakes.
The 51s, who have never swept a series from New Orleans in the 20-year history between the clubs, have won each of the first three games of the four-game set.
After 'Cakes starter Scott Copeland breezed through the first two innings, the 51s scored seven times on eight hits over the next two frames. Jayce Boyd led off the third with the first two-bagger of the day, and scored on Gavin Cecchini's two-out single.
Travis d'Arnaud followed with a single ahead of back-to-back doubles by Amed Rosario and Dominic Smith to give Las Vegas a 4-0 cushion.
New Orleans loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third and pushed across a run on a ground out by Tomás Telis, but Cecchini added an RBI double an inning later, and d'Arnaud chipped in a run-scoring single to stretch the 51s lead to 7-1.
Destin Hood's solo home run in the eighth off reliever David Roseboom gave him a team-leading eight homers on the year, all of them coming at the Shrine on Airline. Matt Juengel tacked on an RBI single to bring the 'Cakes within four before Erik Goeddel came on to record the final four outs.
Tyler Pill (3-1) gave up just the one run in 6 1/3 innings to get the win and lower his ERA to 1.96.
Copeland (3-5) struck out six in five innings but was charged with seven runs on nine hits, six of them doubles, to suffer the loss.
The Baby Cakes wrap up the series and the homestand on Monday at 7 p.m.
