WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (June 12, 2017) - Landon Lassiter posted a three-hit effort, and Drew Hasler provided four scoreless innings out of the bullpen as the Dash toppled the Wood Ducks 8-5 on Monday evening at BB&T Ballpark.
Lassiter's three-hit performance culminated in the fourth frame when the High Point native connected on his second double of the contest to plate the go-ahead runs for Winston-Salem (21-43) against Down East (22-41) reliever Tyler Davis. Lassiter's two-bagger scored Danny Mendick and Luis Basabe on the play, pushing the Dash's lead to 6-4.

Hasler (2-0), who entered in the fifth inning after Martinez loaded the bases without recording an out, quieted the Woodies' scoring efforts, tossing four spotless innings of work in relief. The right-hander has now allowed just one earned run in 34.2 career innings at BB&T Ballpark, equating to a 0.26 ERA at the downtown facility.
The Wood Ducks started the scoring in their first offensive frame against Winston-Salem starter Luis Martinez, as Preston Scott blooped an RBI single to right to score Matt Lipka and make it 1-0 Down East.
However, that lead did not last more than one batter in the Dash half of the first, as Basabe clubbed a 3-2 fastball off Wood Ducks starter Frank Lopez (0-2) onto the Nature's Select Knoll to tie the contest at one.
Down East responded in the third, as Yanio Perez and Arturo Lara notched run-scoring singles to extend the Wood Ducks lead to 4-1.
The back-and-forth affair continued in the bottom half of the third. With two outs in the inning, Lassiter scorched a double to left. Following a walk to Telvin Nash, Aaron Schnurbusch clocked a three-run blast into the Foothills Brew Pen to knot the score at four.
Winston-Salem tacked on runs in the seventh and the eighth on an RBI single from Brady Conlan and a wild pitch by Down East reliever Adam Choplick that plated Basabe, giving the Dash an 8-5 advantage.
Jack Charleston spun a scoreless ninth for Winston-Salem, picking up his fourth save in as many tries.
The Dash continue their three-game series with the Wood Ducks on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. from BB&T Ballpark. Winston-Salem sends All-Star lefty Tanner Banks (5-3, 3.64 ERA) to the hill against Woodies right-hander Emerson Martinez (0-5, 5.36 ERA).
