There were two outs and no one on base when Salt Lake pitcher Brooks Pounders hit Tony Kemp with a 2-2 pitch. Derek Fisher followed with a single to center to move Kemp to third. After Fisher stole second base, Colin Moran delivered a two run single off Pounders (1-2) to put Fresno ahead to stay. The Bees had taken a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh on a bases loaded, two out, two run single by C.J. Cron.
Ramón Flores had two hits and drove in one run, as he extends his hitting streak to 13 games. César Puello and Tony Sanchez each added two hits, while Matt Williams chipped in with an RBI triple. Bees starter Drew Gagnon went five innings and allowed three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks, while Jason Gurka and Justin Miller each tossed one scoreless inning in relief.
