Lauer Roughed Up by Frisco in 9-2 Loss

FRISCO--One night after coming within an out of being no-hit, the Roughriders roughed up Missions starter Eric Lauer and cruised to a 9-2 win Thursday night in the series opener at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Lauer allowed five runs and a career-high two homeruns in his previous start, last Friday, also against Frisco.

The 2016 first-round draft picked surrendered a career high seven runs Thursday night and allowed two more homers as he suffered his first loss in three Double-A decisions.

Luis Urías collected four hits for San Antonio while extending his hitting streak to 10 games. It was his fifth four-hit game of the season. Urias became the first Mission since Kyle Blanks in 2008 to record five four-hit games in one season.

He also became the first hitter in the Texas League this year to string together three hitting streaks of 10 games or longer.

Ty France slugged a solo homerun for San Antonio.

The Roughriders snapped a five-game losing streak to the Missions and beat San Antonio for only the third time in 13 games in Frisco.

The Missions have now allowed 38 runs in the last seven games after surrendering only 39 runs in their 13 previous contests.

NOTES: INF Peter Van Gansen was re-assigned to Triple-A El Paso. There was no other corresponding move.
