Laureano, who turns 23 this Saturday, tied a team record with five hits in Sunday's 6-5 win over Arkansas. He paced league players for the week in average (.483), hits (14), extra-base hits (nine), and OPS (1.500), while hitting two home runs with five runs batted in.
Selected by Houston in the 16th round of the 2014 June draft from Northwest Oklahoma A&M College, Laureano is 14-for-22 (.636) over the last five games, a span during which his season average has jumped from .199 to .232.
Sunday, the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder doubled and scored in the first and third innings, and then picked up RBIs in the fourth, sixth, and seventh on a single, single, and triple, respectively. He also swiped a base after his fourth plate appearance.
His three-base hit was the game-winner.
