Summary
RubberDucks right fielder Mike Papi cranked a two-run shot as a part of a three-run sixth inning for Akron, but Erie's three home runs gave them the 6-5 win Friday night at UPMC Park.

Turning Point
Erie left fielder Christin Stewart drove in the deciding run in the fifth inning on an RBI single to right field that scored center fielder Harold Castro, putting the SeaWolves up 6-2.

Winging It
RubberDucks starter Luis Lugo gave up three solo home runs in three-straight innings to start the game. Erie's A.J. Simcox also scored on a steal after a Francisco Mejía throwing error. Lugo turned in a perfect fourth frame, but then surrendered another couple of runs in the fifth, one from a Dominic Ficociello double and the other on a Christin Stewart single to make it 5-2. Lugo finished out with another perfect inning in the sixth for a final line of six innings pitched, seven hits, six runs, five earned, two walks and five strikeouts. D.J. Brown closed out the final two innings for Akron, working two scoreless innings with a strikeout. Erie starter A.J. Ladwig also finished with six innings, giving up six hits, five runs, three earned, and a walk with two strikeouts.
Duck Tales
The Ducks started off the scoring in the first after Greg Allen scored on a Mejia double play. Allen would later get an RBI via a sacrifice fly in the third that sent home Luigi Rodriguez. Akron put up a crooked number in the sixth frame, first on a Bobby Bradley sac fly that plated Joe Sever. Mike Papi would then crank a two-run shot, his seventh of the season, to close the gap at 6-5. Third baseman Joe Sever delivered his second straight two-hit game of the series. Shortstop Yu Chang equaled him with a two-hit game of his own after a routine night off.
