The Winston-Salem Dash and Flow Chevrolet have announced that Parkland High School has been selected for the 2017 Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation program. Therefore, Parkland's baseball field will receive a Major League makeover this month.

Parkland's submission has a unique connection to the Diamond in the Rough program. In 2014, the Dash and Flow Chevrolet partnered for their inaugural field renovation at South Little League (SLL) in Winston-Salem. SLL feeds into Parkland High School, meaning that students who have grown up playing on those renovated fields will now be able to contribute, along with Dash and Flow Chevrolet staff, to the renovation of their field at Parkland.

"Parkland Baseball would like to thank the Winston-Salem Dash and Flow Chevrolet for their generous donation of time, money, and resources," Parkland baseball coach Jonathan Fansler said. "Their continuous work to promote youth baseball in the city of Winston-Salem is a testament to their desire to see it grow in this area, and to see kids be active and stay healthy. This gift will greatly benefit the baseball program here at Parkland, as it will enable us to provide a better, safer place for our kids to practice and play. We here at Parkland High School are so grateful to have received this gift and we look forward to what the finished product will be.

The Flow Chevrolet Diamond in the Rough Ballpark Renovation program is made possible by generous donations from Long Brothers of Summerfield and Nature's Select.

This year, the program will be transforming its fourth facility. In addition to South Little League, recipients have included Northwest Forsyth Little League in 2016 and Winston-Salem National Little League in 2015. The program follows similar baseball and softball field renovation programs that exist in both Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball.
