The Clinton Lumber Kings (9-3) came from behind to defeat the Beloit Snappers (5-5) by the score of 5-4 Saturday night from Ashford University Field in Clinton, IA.

Despite home runs from Trace Loehr and Logan Farrar, the Snappers fell for the second-consecutive night to the Clinton Lumber Kings, thanks to a three-run home run by Ryan Costello in the bottom of the sixth inning that tied the game at 4 at the time.
Clinton would take the lead in the seventh inning, as a wild pitch by Snappers reliever Josh Reagan allowed Louis Boyd to score to put the Lumber Kings on top 5-4.
The Snappers then were erased in the eighth, and were retired in order in the ninth to deny the comeback effort.
Snappers starter Bryce Conley entered the day not having yielded a base hit, nor a run of any kind in his first 10 innings pitched for the season. Conley continued that stretch for the first inning before yielding his first hit of the season to Jack Larsen who singled to lead off the second inning. The right-hander then surrendered just his first run of the year the next inning, as Billy Cooke scored Eugene Helder to give the Lumber Kings a 1-0 lead, and end Conley's scoreless streak at 12.1 innings.
In the top of the fourth, Farrar responded and drilled a solo home run to right field to tie the game at 1 after four. For Farrar, it was his first home run as a Snapper, and the fifth of his minor league career.
Loehr got in on the home run fun, as the second baseman sent a two-run shot to right field to give the Snappers a 3-1 lead at the time.
Austin Beck then added to his team-leading RBI total with a RBI single to left scoring Hunter Hargrove to give the Snappers a 4-1 lead. For Beck, it is his 11th RBI on the year, and his sixth in his last four games.
Conley's night for the Snappers was done after tossing 4.2 innings, while surrendering just one earned run on five hits while striking out a career-high six batters while not factoring into the decision.
Heath Bowers was then summoned from the Snappers bullpen, and the right-hander recorded the final out of the fifth inning before finding trouble in the bottom of the sixth.
After issuing back-to-back walks to Ariel Sandoval and Jack Larsen to begin the sixth, Bowers got Johnny Adams to pop up to Skyler Weber to record the first out of the inning. Costello then stepped to the plate and ripped a three-run home run to tie the game at 4 after six inning.
The series continues with the series finale Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Ashford University Field. Right-hander Wyatt Marks (2-0, 1.80) will start for the Snappers, as southpaw Ray Kerr (0-1, 21.00) will start for the Lumber Kings.
