San Antonio -The San Antonio Missions are proud to announce that left-hander Logan Allen was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week for April 23-29.
In his two starts this past week, Allen went 1-0 with a 1.38 ERA and a K:BB ratio of 12:4. For the week, Allen tied for the league lead in innings pitched (13.0), while ranking third in strikeouts, seventh in OPP AVG (.163) and ninth in ERA.
The West Palm Beach, FL native made his first start of the week on April 24 vs. Frisco at Wolff Stadium, where he allowed just two runs on four hits and three walks, while punching out six over six innings in a no decision. Allen was sensational in another Wolff start Sunday, tossing a season-high seven shutout innings of three-hit ball in San Antonio's 14-0 rout of Midland.
In five starts this season, his first at the Double-A level, Allen is 3-1 with a 3.14 ERA and 30 strikeouts over 28.2 innings. Allen is tied for the TL lead in wins, second in innings, fifth in strikeouts and ninth in ERA.
San Diego acquired the hurler from Boston along with OF Manuel Margot and INFs Javier Guerra and Carlos Asuaje in exchange for closer Craig Kimbrel in November of 2015.
