Binghamton, NY - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (44-48) scored all 16 runs over five innings and defeated the Portland Sea Dogs (36-56), 16-2 on Monday night in the opener of a four-game series at NYSEG Stadium.

For the second straight day, Deiner Lopez provided Portland's offense, nailing a two-run triple in the fourth inning.
Binghamton's Justin Dunn (W, 4-2) worked six innings on eight hits, two runs, no walks and six strikeouts to beat Portland for the second time this season.
Kyle Hart (L, 6-6) suffered the loss for the Sea Dogs, yielding eight runs over 4+ innings on nine hits.
Binghamton hit four homers, picking up the game's first run on a solo homer by Joey Terdoslavich to lead-off the second inning. In the sixth inning, Tomás Nido, Champ Stuart, and Levi Michael each hit two-run homers off Trey Ball. 
Jhoan Urena went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI. Michael, Nido, and Stuart also knocked in 3 RBI.
Portland's Travis Lakins worked 1.1 scoreless frames in relief of Ball. Jordan Betts pitched a scoreless eighth, the third scoreless appearance of his career. 
The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets affiliate) continue their four-game series with a doubleheader on Tuesday night beginning at 5:35 PM from NYSEG Stadium. Portland sends a pair of lefties to the mound; Dedgar Jimenez (4-6, 5.82) and Daniel McGrath (1-1, 3.35). Binghamton has RHP Mickey Jannis (6-3, 4.73) in the opener but TBA for the second game.
