If Cody Bellinger's Opening Night performance is any indication of things to come, Dodgers fans have a lot to be excited about this year.
The club's top prospect went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a walk on Thursday in Triple-A Oklahoma City's season-opening 1-0 loss to Iowa at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Bellinger was in a groove from the outset, ripping a double to right field in the first inning and following that up with another double to center in the third.

The 21-year-old first baseman stayed perfect with a single to right in the fifth. In his final plate appearance of the night, Bellinger drew a five-pitch walk leading off the eighth.
After posting a .263/.359/.484 slash line with 23 homers and 65 RBIs in 114 games for Double-A Tulsa in 2016, Bellinger was promoted to Oklahoma City for the final three games of the regular season and stayed with the Dodgers for their run to the Pacific Coast League Championship Series.
Bellinger followed up that breakout season with an encouraging showing in the Arizona Fall League, where he batted .314/.424/.557 with three homers and 17 RBIs in 20 games.
Thursday's game was scoreless until the ninth, when Cubs No. 12 prospect Victor Caratini hit a one-out single, took third on a base hit by Bijan Rademacher and scored on a wild pitch by Brandon Morrow, the Dodgers' fifth pitcher.
