EASTLAKE, Ohio - Red hot David Jacob homered amid a three-hit, three-RBI game, helping the Lansing Lugnuts (26-40, 63-69) win their fourth straight game, 7-4 over the Lake County Captains (25-41, 52-83) on Thursday night at Classic Park.

Jacob joined the Lugnuts from Vancouver on August 14th, opening with only one hit in his first 19 at-bats. Since then, 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is 16-for-38 with five consecutive multi-hit games - drawing a first-inning walk, launching a third-inning homer, stinging a fifth-inning single, and knocking in two teammates with ninth-inning single in his latest bravura performance.

Yeltsin Gudino and Javier Hernandez added long back-to-back solo home runs in the sixth inning to back the pitching of Yennsy Diaz and three relievers.

Diaz (Win, 5-2) tossed 5 2/3 innings, striking out six, and allowing only a sixth-inning three-run homer to Li-Jen Chu.

Lake County starter Luis Jimenez (Loss, 2-8) pitched five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, including all three home runs.

Five different Lugnuts have homered in the first two games of the series, with Jacob, Gudino, Hernandez and Ridge Smith each collecting their second home runs of the season.

Yonardo Herdenez pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Diaz, yielding to Jared Carkuff for a perfect eighth. Miguel Burgos allowed a run on a Luke Wakamatsu sacrifice fly in the ninth before wrapping up the win.

The Lugnuts go for a fifth straight win and a three-game sweep on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Lefty Juliandry Higuera (4-0, 5.02) opposes Lake County southpaw Brady Aiken (5-13, 4.89).
