EASTLAKE, OH - The Lansing Lugnuts (29-22) scored 12 unanswered runs between the fifth and sixth innings, piling up 21 hits and winning a 15-9 slugfest over the Lake County Captains (18-34) on Thursday night at Classic Park.

The Lugnuts set new season highs in runs scored and hits - a feat accomplished with the league's leading batter, Bo Bichette , receiving the day off.

Every Lansing batter reached base at least twice, with Yeltsin Gudino going 4-for-6 with three RBIs and two runs, and Christian Williams finishing 3-for-4 with a home run, two walks and four runs scored.

J.B. Woodman and Vladimir Guerrero added three-hit performances, and Edward Olivares was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a two-run homer.

Lake County brought a 6-1 lead to the middle innings, only to watch the Lugnuts score four runs in the fifth before breaking it open with an eight-run sixth.

Lansing starter Andy Ravel (Win, 4-1) pitched five innings, allowing nine hits and six runs while striking out four.

The bullpen took over from there: Reliever Tayler Saucedo held the Captains off the board in the sixth and seventh. Zach Jackson allowed two runs in the eighth, ending a 13-inning scoreless streak. Jackson McClelland gave up a run in the ninth before closing the game out.

The loss was charged to Michael Letkewicz(Loss, 0-1), one of five Captains relievers used, who gave up three runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning. He was followed to the mound by Henry Martinez, who also lasted only 2/3 of an inning, giving up six runs on five hits and a walk.

The game took three hours and 43 minutes to complete nine innings.

The Lugnuts open a three-game series at West Michigan at 7 p.m. Friday, sending right-hander Patrick Murphy (3-1, 3.19) against Whitecaps left-hander Greg Soto (4-1, 2.18).

The Lansing Lugnuts return to Cooley Law School Stadium for a three-game homestand spanning June 6-8. Tickets may be purchased at the stadium box office, by calling (517) 485-4500 or via lansinglugnuts.com.
