MOBILE, Ala. (July 6, 2018) - Brennon Lund hit a pair of two-run homers to help lead the Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, to a 7-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Friday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
It was the first multi-homer game of Lund's career. He went 3-for-5 in the game and matched his career-high with five RBIs. The home runs came in the third inning off Merandy Gonzalez (0-3) and the sixth off Reilly Hovis .
Luis Rengifo also went 3-for-5, his 15th multi-hit game with Mobile (46-36 overall, 9-5 second half). He drove in a run with a triple in the sixth and scored on both of Lund's home runs.
Joe Gatto gave up three runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings pitched. Ralston Cash (1-0), Adrian Almeida , and Dario Beltre combined to hold the Jumbo Shrimp (31-52, 3-12) to just one hit over 4 1/3 scoreless frames.
The BayBears wrap up the four-game home series against Jacksonville Saturday at 7:05 p.m. CDT.
