CORPUS, Texas (June 6, 2018) - Brett Martin gave his best performance of the year for the Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, allowing one run and fanning six in 5 2/3 innings of work, but a late home run pushed the Corpus Christi Hooks to a 4-2 victory Wednesday evening at Whataburger Field.

BIG MOMENTS
* After allowing a career-high eight runs in his last start, Martin yielded just one run and kept the Hooks off balance most of the night. He left in line for his second win of the season.

* Corpus Christi's Stephen Wrenn spoiled Martin's chance for victory with a three-run home run in the eighth to put the Hooks ahead 4-2.


* The Riders erased an early 1-0 deficit with a two-run sixth inning, thanks to a Josh Morgan sacrifice fly and Jose Trevino RBI single.

NEWS AND NOTES
Riders reliever James Jones made his first appearance as a hitter since July 2016 and went 1-for-2 with a single, a walk and a stolen base.

* Michael O'Neill extended his hitting streak to nine games with a single in the sixth.
