Hops roll up four runs in the eighth in 6-3 win at Salem-Keizer

A four-run outburst in the eighth inning boosted the Hillsboro Hops to their fifth win in six games.
Eudy Ramos went 3-for-4 on the night and tied the game with an RBI double in the eighth, later scoring the go-ahead run on Drew Ellis' single to left as the Hops defeated the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 6-3 at Volcanoes Stadium Tuesday night.

Bryan Araiza also had three hits and reached base four times, scoring the tying run in the eighth after a leadoff walk.
The Hops pen was again masterful after starting pitcher Tyler Keele departed with two outs in the fifth inning. Junior Garcia held the Volcanoes in check on one hit over three innings to earn the win. Garcia struck out two and walked two. Erbert Gonzalez got the final out in the eighth and pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his fourth save in four opportunities.
The Hops took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Araiza scored on an RBI groundout by Tim Susnara .
A leadoff walk to Ryan Kirby and a Manuel Geraldo single led to two runs for the Volcanoes in the second inning. Kirby scored on a passed ball with Geraldo coming home on Orlando Garcia's squeeze bunt.
The Hops evened the score in the third when Camden Duzenack was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on a double by Araiza and scored on Ramos' sacrifice fly.
Geraldo gave the Volcanoes the lead back in the bottom of the inning on three consecutive hits, with Rob Calabrese scoring on Geraldo's single to right.
Jason Bahr was charged with the loss in his second professional outing. The San Francisco Giants' fifth-round draft pick out of Central Florida gave up three hits and a walk, charged with four earned runs in the eighth.
Geraldo went 4-for-4 on the night to raise his batting average to .342.
Ramos extended his hitting streak to eight games. Ryan Grotjohn had his first two professional hits, driving in the Hops final run of the night. Tra Holmes also went 2-for-4. NWL All-Star catcher Luke Lowery returned to the Hops lineup for the first time in two weeks, going 0-for-2 in a designated hitter role.
The Hops wrap up the two-game series Wednesday night at 6:35 p.m. with pregame airtime at 6:05 p.m. on Rip City Radio 620 AM.
