In honor of the Run for the Roses, any fan who dresses up in Kentucky Derby-appropriate clothing can receive a discount at the National Mall Team Store. Once inside the ballpark, fans can watch the Kentucky Derby live in the brand-new Pfitzner Stadium Party Zone prior to the matchup between the Potomac Nationals and the Salem Red Sox (Boston).
Once the game begins, the stadium will be divided into nine different sections, with each to represent one of the nine top Kentucky Derby contenders. Each of the nine P-Nats players in the batting order will be assigned to one of the sections of the ballpark. The P-Nats player that combines for the most runs scored and stolen bases will win their section a free ticket to a future P-Nats game, excluding July 4th, which fans can pick up on their way out of Pfitzner Stadium after the game.
Additionally, there will be an on-field hat competition during the game for fans who come dressed with the best Kentucky Derby-style hat. If any fan comes to the game wearing a horse head, they will receive a free ticket voucher for a future P-Nats game, excluding July 4th.
Representatives from Milford Meadow Farms will be on hand at The Pfitz, as fans can take a ride on a horse/pony for just $5.
Fans at the ballpark will be able to experience a Churchill Downs experience with the P-Nats "Horse Picking Window." If you enter the "pick the winner contest," and the horse you chose wins the Kentucky Derby, you win one ticket to any remaining P-Nats home game, outside of July 4th. If you enter the Exacta Box competition, and your selections finish first and second in the Kentucky Derby, you will get the prize for the "winner contest" plus a P-Nats bobblehead! If you enter the Trifecta competition, and your selections finish in first, second, and third, you get the prizes from the "winner contest" and "Exacta Box" as well as a P-Nats autographed item!
