Meisinger Makes Orioles Debut

After having his contract selected by the Orioles on Friday, Meisinger, 24, made his appearance later that day against the Los Angeles Angels. Over 1.2 innings, the right-hander allowed one run on two hits to go with one strikeout. Before joining the Orioles, Meisinger pitched in 15 games with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides going 1-0 with a 2.05 ERA (22 IP/5ER). He held opponents to a .198 average (16-for-81).
A member of the Keys in 2016, Meisinger joined Frederick that June following a dominant first half with the Low-A Delmarva Shorebirds where he went 3-2 with a 0.78 ERA in 16 games. With Frederick, the former Radford product went 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA in 19 games. Over 40 innings, he allowed only 34 hits, walked 12 and struck out 46.
Meisinger was selected by the Orioles in the 11th round of the 2015 draft out of Radford. The right-hander was born in Prince Frederick, MD.
