The Brewers went in order in their first two innings, but kick started the offense in the third. Franly Mallen and Yerald Martinez both singled to start the inning and Antonio Pinero advanced the runners into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt. Nick Roscetti followed with a single through the third base side, scoring Mallen to make it 1-0. Center fielder Jose Gomez snuck down a bunt and legged out an infield single, bringing in a run to push the Brewers lead to 2-0. Brent Diaz walked to load the bases, but Jay Feliciano flew out in foul territory and Gabriel Garcia struck out, ending the Helena rally.

After a strike out, Ernie De La Trinidad doubled before Joel Novas singled in a pair of runs, pushing the Osprey to a 4-2 lead. In 4.0 innings of work, Benoit allowed four runs on six hits while striking out three.
