CLEARWATER, Fla. (August 22, 2017) - The Fort Myers Miracle (37-20) were shut out by the Clearwater Threshers (26-32) 4-0 in their series opener at Spectrum Field on Tuesday Night.
RHP Randy LeBlanc (L, 2-2) did not allow a run through his first three innings. In the bottom of the fourth, Cornelius Randolph's leadoff double came around to score on an Edgar Cabral fielder's choice groundout.
In the fifth, three straight base hits brought in Clearwater's second run. Jose Gomez singled in Emmanuel Marrero, and Mark Laird was brought in a Wilson Garcia RBI-groundout.
With a lead, RHP Seranthony Domínguez (W, 4-3) surrendered just two base hits over six innings while striking out a half-dozen as well. Fort Myers managed four hits on the night as they were shutout by the Threshers at Spectrum field for the third time this season.
RHP Sean Poppen takes the ball for Fort Myers on Wednesday night against LHP Jojo Romero with first pitch set for 7:00 PM ET.
