SAN ANTONIO - Jacob Nix fired seven frames of one-run ball Monday night as the Missions beat the Hooks, 2-1, before 3,353 fans at Wolff Stadium.
The result snapped San Antonio's (17-13, 59-41) four-game losing streak against Corpus Christi (20-11, 63-37). The Hooks are now 10-7 against their I-37 rival.

Corpus Christi's lone marker came in the second on doubles by Josh Rojas and Chas McCormick.
Nix (2-2) faced one over the minimum from the third through seventh. The 22-year-old, who was originally selected by the Astros in the third round of the 2014 draft, retired 15 of the last 18 he faced. Nix struck out eight and walked one.
Hooks starter Brandon Bielak (2-2) survived two walks in the first thanks to a 5-4-3 double play.
San Antonio scored its first run in the second. River Stevens singled and moved into scoring position on a wild pitch. Peter Van Gansen cashed in with a two-out RBI knock.
Josh Naylor opened the Missions third with a double into the left-centerfield gap. Ty France followed with a single up the middle for the decisive run.
Chris Huffman entered for Nix and spun a 1-2-3 eighth.
Corpus Christi threatened in the ninth. Taylor Jones drew a two-out walk from fire-baller Andres Munoz. Rojas then blistered his second double of the game, staging two in scoring position for Anibal Sierra. Munoz responded by coaxing a ground ball to short for his fourth Double-A save.
Hooks lefty Kit Scheetz permitted just one hit over 2 2/3 scoreless innings of relief. Ralph Garza worked around a one-out double in the eighth.
Brett Adcock (0-0, 0.00) is set to face fellow southpaw Logan Allen Tuesday night. Allen (10-4, 2.66) leads the Texas League in wins and ERA. First pitch 7:05.
