ABERDEEN, MD - A season high 14 hits led the IronBirds to a 9-3 victory. Their nine runs were the most they've had this season.
Brooklyn opened up the scoring in the second against Aberdeen starter Tobias Myers, but the IronBirds tied it up in the bottom of the third. Myers went 4.0 innings pitched, allowed three hits, one run and struckout five.
RUN AWAY WITH IT: The 'Birds turned it on in the fifth, as RBI's from Ben Breazeale, Ryan Ripken and Jaylen Ferguson (2) gave them a 5-1 lead. Ben Breazeale added to the scoring in the seventh with his first professional homerun. After seven it was 6-1 Ironbirds.
Ryan Ripken sealed the deal in the eighth with a three-run homerun to left, finishing the night with four RBIs.
SPEED THRILLS: Kirvin Moesquit was the star for Aberdeen. He went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases. Moesquit set an IronBirds single game record for steals and tied the individual season high for hits.
'BIRD WATCHING: Aberdeen won their second straight game against Brooklyn after losing three straight. They are now 2-1 at home and have won two series out of three. Moesquit continued his hitting streak and has extended it to four games. Slugger Seamus Curran is back on the hit train with a two game hitting streak and a hit in five of the seven games he has played
