(READING, PA) - The Eastern League announced its 2019 season-ending All-Star team on Friday, featuring Fightin Phils outfielder Mickey Moniak and first baseman Darick Hall.
The season-ending All-Stars were voted on by the league's coaches, broadcasters, and media personnel, and recognize the top players at each position throughout the course of the Eastern League season.
Moniak, 21, ranks in the league's top-10 in RBIs (65), slugging percentage (.446), doubles (27), and triples (11), while batting .256. His 10 home runs are double his previous career high, and his 15 stolen bases are also a career-most. Moniak was drafted first overall out of La Costa Canyon High School (CA) in 2016. He was also a mid-season All-Star selection, but did not play due to injury.
Hall, 24, was named an All-Star at designated hitter. He won the Eastern League's Home Run Derby this season, and has consistently been one of the league's top run producers in 2019. He currently ranks tied for second in the league in home runs (20) and second in RBIs (66), and leads all Eastern League hitters in doubles with a career-high 34. In 122 games, Hall is eighth in the league in on-base percentage at .353, having drawn the fifth-most walks in the EL (58). Hall was selected by the Phillies in the 14th round in 2016 out of Dallas Baptist University.
