Looking to get on the scoreboard after entering the game with 11 consecutive innings of being shutout, the Mud Hens returned to Rochester on Saturday night.
Though they were able to get their offense going to an extent, it was enough to slow down the hot Red Wings and Toledo fell by a score of 4-3.

Buck Farmer got the nod for the Mud Hens and produced a strong outing, lasting 6.2 innings and allowing three earned runs while striking out four.
David Hurlbut was his opponent for the Red Wings and was excellent much like last night's pitcher, Tim Melville. The left-hander threw seven innings and allowed just one run while striking out four, as well.
Much like in last night's game, it took awhile for each team's bats to wake up in this contest. In the top of the third inning, newest Mud Hen Dominic Ficociello was able to collect the first hit of his Triple-A career, but was stranded on base to hold the game scoreless.
The scoring was finally kicked off in the bottom of the fourth when Rochester left fielder Matt Hague doubled with one out to put a runner in scoring position. He was moved over to third on a wild pitch and a groundout by Kennys Vargas broke the scoreless tie in favor of the Red Wings.
The home team was able to add to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning when Niko Goodrum led off the inning with a double and was moved to third on an error by Tyler Collins. He came around to score after a single from Leonardo Reginatto and the game stood at 2-0.
Omar Infante hit a double with one out in the top of the sixth but didn't come around to score. The Mud Hens were able to cut down the lead and score their first run in nearly 20 innings in the top of the seventh, when Argenis Diaz reached base on a fielder's choice and then moved to second base. With two outs, Bryan Holaday singled and the lead was cut in half.
Rochester was able to answer right back in the bottom of the frame after a two-out double off the bat of Goodrum. Just like in the fourth inning, Reginatto was able to come through for the Red Wings with a clutch single to make it a 3-1 game. Farmer exited and Joe Jiménez came on and he was greeted with a single from Edgar Corcino to push it to 4-1.
Brendan Ryan led off the top of the eighth with a walk against Rochester reliever Alex Wimmers and moved to second on a groundout. JaCoby Jones was able to take advantage of the runner in scoring position with a single that scored Ryan and made the game 4-2.
John Curtiss came on in the ninth for the Red Wings in search of his 3rd save of the season. A one-out walk from pinch hitter Matt den Dekker got things started for the Mud Hens and Bryan Holaday followed it up with another single and an RBI to cut the lead in half once more. Curtiss was able to settle in and induce the flyout that he needed to secure the 4-3 Rochester victory.
Toledo closes out their series with Rochester on Sunday afternoon. Daniel Norris is set to make his second start of the season for the Mud Hens; first pitch is scheduled for 1:35.
