Muno, Rainiers Walk Off Over Aces, 2-1

TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (61-60) collected their second consecutive walk-off victory over the Reno Aces (68-53) on Sunday afternoon at Cheney Stadium, winning by a final score of 2-1 on a ninth inning double from third baseman Danny Muno.
Reno rallied for a two-out run in the top of the fifth to take a 1-0 lead over Tacoma. Kristopher Negrón led off the frame with a single and stole second while the next two batters struck out swinging. Ildemaro Vargas poked an RBI single into right field to plate Negron and spot the visitors a one-run lead.

The Rainiers were held without a hit until the bottom of the seventh inning, when first baseman Daniel Vogelbach poked a one-out single into left field, breaking up Jake Buchanan's no-hit bid.
Tacoma briefly threatened with a runner in scoring position in the bottom of the eighth, but could not capitalize.
The Rainiers improbable rally came in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. Left fielder Zach Shank collected a single and moved to second as second baseman Gordon Beckham was hit by a pitch. With the count full and the Rainiers down to their final strike, Muno lifted a high pop fly into shallow left field that narrowly fell in for a double, scoring two runs and giving Tacoma the walk-off win.
Tacoma starting pitcher Bryan Evans (0-1), recently promoted from Double-A Arkansas, held the potent Reno offense to just one run on five hits over 5.0 innings of work. He did not factor into the decision despite striking out eight and issuing just one walk.
Tacoma is slated to send right-hander Cody Martin (0-0, 4.14) to the mound as the Rainiers and Aces wrap up their series on Monday night. Reno is set to throw right-hander Taylor Clarke (1-1, 7.50). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. PT.
