#Mudcats30 Video Series

To help celebrate the 2020, 30th anniversary season, the Mudcats have introduced a new digital video series aimed at telling the story of the club's history as told by those who lived it.

New episodes will be released throughout the 2020 calendar year on YouTube and Facebook. The series is produced by Evan Moesta and Greg Young. Interviews were conducted during the off-season leading up to the 2020 season.

EPISODE ONE: The first episode of the new season-long series was released on March 9, 2020 and featured a story told by Bill Riggan from the inaugural 1991 season. This story describes the link between the movie Field of Dreams, Five County Stadium and the Mudcats.

EPISODE TWO: Episode two features Bill Riggan and Jeff Gravley as they share the story of a very special encounter with Michael Jordan at Five County Stadium in 1994.

EPISODE THREE: The third entry covers the first few games that saw the Mudcats play against Michael Jordan and the Birmingham Barons in 1994. The announced crowds for that series were nearly all record breakers as the Mudcats saw over 8,000 fans attend several of those games at Five County Stadium. The stories featured are told by Jeff Gravley, Kerry Kincaid, Bill Riggan and Debbie Privette.

EPISODE FOUR: The land was not for sale, then the perfect offer came to the table. Episode four of our 30th Anniversary series tells the story of how a tobacco field in eastern Wake County became our little slice of heaven. Episode four features a story about Avon Privette as told by his son Will.

EPISODE FIVE: The fifth episode of our 30th Anniversary series features a look back on how a construction site in Zebulon became a ballpark for thousands in the span of a few hours on July 3rd, 1991. It is the story of the very first home game in Five County Stadium history. Episode five is told by Mudcats' VP and General Manager Joe Kremer, former Director of Field Operations Bill Riggan and Debbie Privette.

EPISODE SIX: Michael Jordan's signature was a tough one to come by at Five County Stadium in 1994, except for one fan. Mudcats' Vice President and General Manager Joe Kremer has the story in this episode of our 30th Anniversary series.

EPISODE SEVEN: In 1992, the Pittsburgh Pirates took their show on the road to Five County Stadium. Thanks to a young slugger named Barry Bonds, they did not disappoint. This story of cheeseburgers, babies and home runs highlights episode seven of our 30th Anniversary Series. Joe Kremer, Jeff Gravley, longtime season ticket holder Henry Mazzeo and longtime business partner and fan Mark Brooks have the story of when the big leagues came to Zebulon in 1992.

EPISODE EIGHT: It's one of the most iconic logos in all of Minor League Baseball. Joe Kremer has the story of how it all came to be.

EPISODE NINE: The story of Darryl Mitchell and his late son Seth is one of the many reasons that Five County Stadium is such a sacred home for lifelong memories. Hear Seth's story in episode nine of our 30th Anniversary Series.

EPISODE TEN: Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis kicked-off the Mudcats' 2003 championship season before heading to Florida to lead the Marlins to a World Series title in the same year. Episode ten of our 30th Anniversary series highlights 2003 through 2008.

EPISODE ELEVEN: A future big league skipper equipped with future big league stars. David Bell, Todd Frazier, Travis Wood and more shined bright during the Cincinnati Reds' era. We learn more about them in this week's 30th Anniversary series episode.

EPISODE TWELVE: Five County Stadium has seen a lot since 1991. The stories of knuckleballs, love and Dusty Baker's craving for Parker's Barbecue are told in the final installment of our 30th Anniversary digital series.
