Center fielder Ryan Lasko batted .241 with eight doubles, one triple, five home runs and 12 stolen bases for the Lugnuts in 2025, plus ridiculously great defense... but that was in only 72 games due to a pair of hamstring injuries. To get Lasko more reps, the Athletics assigned him to the celebrated, prospect-rich Arizona Fall League's Mesa Solar Sox with fellow Lugnuts batsmen Joshua Kuroda-Grauer and Tommy White and pitchers Blaze Pontes, Nathan Dettmer, Mark Adamiak and Corey Avant.
The pitchers fared worse as a whole in a hitter-friendly league. The hitters? They were tremendous, led by Lasko.
“Ryan’s opened a lot of eyes. Tommy and Josh have done a nice job. … After the last couple of years with guys moving quickly, you can’t rule anything out.”

Ryan Lasko, Tommy White, Joshua Kuroda-Grauer were the latest A’s prospects to shine in the AFL. https://t.co/ocRliFbhC4
Lasko batted a sizzling .357 in the desert, with a .452 on-base percentage and an exceptional .881 OPS, reaching base 38 times in 21 games while tying Tigers prospect Kevin McGonigle in hits (25, three back of the league leader).
The performance wrapped up a stellar conclusion to the year for the Rutgers Scarlet Knight, who was promoted to Triple-A after the Lugnuts' season ended and homered in both games of the Pacific Coast League Championship Series to help the Las Vegas Aviators sweep their way to the PCL title.
