Ockimey and Witte lead the charge, 'Dogs win 5-3

Portland, Maine - Jantzen Witte broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh and the Sea Dogs (31-50) defeated the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (39-42) 5-2 on Monday night at Hadlock Field.

Binghamton led the ballgame 2-0 after five innings, but Portland rallied for five unanswered runs en route to the victory.
Trailing 2-0 in the sixth, Josh Ockimey tripled off of Nabil Crismatt to left to drive in Witte and put the Sea Dogs on the board. Three batters later, Luke Tendler hit an infield single with two outs to score Ockimey and tie the game at two.
Danny Mars led off the Sea Dogs' seventh with a single and two batters later Chad De La Guerra singled to set up Witte, who drove a pitch from Joe Zanghi into the gap in right-center field to plate both runners and give Portland the 4-2 lead. Ockimey followed with an RBI single to make it 5-2.
Travis Lakins (W, 1-2) earned his first Double-A victory with 1.2 innings of scoreless relief. Sea Dogs' starter Matt Kent allowed two runs on nine hits over 6.1 innings. The lefty fanned six and didn't walk a batter. Josh Taylor allowed an unearned run in the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. Taylor struck out Joey Terdoslavich swinging to end the ballgame.
David Roseboom (L, 1-1) was the losing pitcher, allowing two earned runs on three hits in 0.2 innings. Both runs scored off of Zanghi, however, who entered the game with two on and one out in the seventh.
Crismatt went 5.2 innings in the start and allowed two runs on five hits while walking two and striking out eight.
The Sea Dogs and Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Mets affiliate) wrap-up their five-game series with a 6:00 PM start on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field. Portland has lefty Daniel McGrath (1-1, 3.21) on the hill. Binghamton counters with righty Justin Dun (1-2, 2.77).
