DAYTONA BEACH, FL -Ryan Olson became the first pitcher in the Florida State League to win his first three starts in Daytona's 5-2 win Thursday night at Steinbrenner Field. Olson struck out a season-best seven in six innings off work, as the Tortugas became the first FSL North team to reach double-digit wins.
The Tortugas got the scoring started with three runs in the top of the third. Dilson Herrera hit a one-out triple to right field and came in to score on a TJ Friedl RBI single. Mitch Nay followed with his fourth homer of the year, a two-run shot to right field for a 3-0 lead. 
The Tarpons got on the scoreboard for the first time in the fifth, with a home run of their own. Tim Lynch drilled a two-run bomb to right-center field for Tampa's lone runs.
Daytona would get the two runs back in the top of the sixth. Bruce Yari led off the inning with a four-pitch walk and came in to score on a Malik Collymore RBI double. Collymore would come into score on a passed ball to round out the scoring.
RHP Ryan Olson (3-0) wins his third straight start. He went six innings, gave up six hits, a two-run home run, walked two, and struck out a season-high seven hitters.
RHP Freicer Perez (0-2) is handed the loss. He went five innings, gave up six hits, three runs, walked two and struck out three.
Joel Kuhnel and Jesse Stallings combined to pitch three perfect innings out of the Tortuga bullpen, with two strikeouts each. Stallings earned his second save.
The Tortugas head to Dunedin for a three game series over the weekend. LHP Wennington Romero (0-0, 4.09 ERA) will make his third start for Daytona, against RHP Justin Dillon (0-1, 3.86 ERA).
First pitch Thursday is scheduled for 6:30 PM, with coverage beginning at 6:20 PM with The Metcare Pregame Show on AM 1230, AM 1490, and FM 106.9 WSBB.
NOTES: Ibandel Isabel made his Tortuga debut, going 0-for-2 with two strikeouts, a walk and was hit by a pitch… Isabel became the seventh different Tortuga to DH this season… All four of Nay's home runs have been twp-run homers… TJ Friedl batted second, the first start he did not bat lead-off… Malik Collymore batted seventh, he has started in every spot in the order except 3-5… Cassidy Brown went 0-for-3, and is now 0-for-14 to start the season… Daytona is 9-1 when leading after six innings, and 8-1 when scoring first.
